Synopsis: Frederic has just finished his 21st year and is released from his apprenticeship with a band of gentle-souled pirates. Upon his freedom, he meets Mabel and they fall instantly in love. Unfortunately, Frederic was born on February 29 and technically has to serve another 63 years of apprenticeship since his birthday is on a leap year because his apprenticeship indentures state he must remain apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday. Conflicted by his sense of duty and love, the only good thing for Frederic is Mabel’s promise to wait for him.
